Safari is fine on the flats but you’d strain that 4.3 driving in any hills. Extra HP points for OPPO and OBX strickers.

Love these. Had an Astro went 248k. Tranny at 170 cost $1800. eventually got tired of being nickle and dimed by sensors...

I drove that van to OBX from San Francisco. Twice. And back. Towed a tent trailer both times. Drove that trip a third time with no trailer.

Have replaced engine, trans and rear end. Driven from the Pacific to the Atlantic and back three times. Towed a tent trailer on two of those trips.

Mine had that cheesy split door/liftback too. Main problem was all the doors including hatch release going bad. Yeah otherwise a go anywhere unit

WOW, long drive. Hope you went to Ocracoke one of those times. I used to go there or Hatteras every week to surf when I lived in Nags Head.

Ocarcoke seemed kind of built up. Went fishing out of Oregon Inlet; near-shore.
